HRL Expanding Service Offering For New Drug Development Clients

HRL, who are well established as leading providers of specialty coagulation testing services, have recently expanded services into specialty chemistry testing using the MESO QuickPlex SQ 12MM electrochemiluminescence platform, with a focus on Cytokine testing.

Cytokines are crucial in controlling the growth and activity of other immune system cells and blood cells. They act as messenger proteins and signal the immune system to regulate the body’s response to disease and infection as well as mediating normal cellular processes in the body. Overproduction or inappropriate production of certain cytokines by the body can also result in disease. Cytokines serve a number of functions including:

  • Stimulating the production of blood cells
  • Aiding in the development, maintenance and repair of tissues
  • Regulating the immune system
  • Driving inflammation through interferons, interleukins and tumor necrosis factor-alpha [TNF-a]

Multiplex testing offers high precision quantification services for biomarker detection in a broad range of sample matrices to quantify large numbers of analytes within a very small sample volume.

This new technology will also allow HRL to add new tests and client specific test panels quickly, in the advancement of their drug development objectives.
