Director, Program Management & Clinical Affairs

Ms. Phillips has over 15 years of international experience in the medical device industry. As Director of Program Management & Clinical Affairs, the role integrates her design control expertise with UBI’s strategic program development function and will include leadership of multiple projects in conjunction with our commercial partners. 

Starting her career as a scientist, Ms. Phillips progressed into the regulatory and quality functions with Abbott Diabetes Care in Oxfordshire, United Kingdom.  During this time, Ms. Phillips participated as a quality and regulatory technical team member on a number of design control projects associated with the continuous improvement of the blood glucose monitoring systems.

Joining Trinity Biotech Plc. in 2005 (headquartered in Bray, Ireland) as the Head of Regulatory Affairs, Ms. Phillips led a team in the successful worldwide registration of multiple product portfolios, as well as being the regulatory lead on multiple projects including the acquisition of the coagulation division of bioMerieux.

In 2010, Ms. Phillips moved to Melbourne, Australia to join Universal Biosensors as the Regulatory Affairs Manager and her role was soon expanded to include Clinical Affairs responsibilities.  She successfully led the Siemens Healthineers Xprecia Stride® clinical studies program, resulting in a European CE Mark in 2014 and U.S.A. FDA 510(k) clearance in 2016 before moving into a full time product development project manager role.

Ms. Phillips holds a BSc with honours in Biomedical Science from the University of the West of England, Bristol.
